Abdominal Therapy

An interview with Joann…

Abdominal Therapy is an external, non-invasive manipulation beneficial for women and men. Using only the hands to reposition organs that have shifted and thereby restricted the flow of blood, lymph, nerve and chi, Abdominal Therapy  releases physical and emotional congestion from the abdomen. Once free of these restrictions, the abdomen is able to function in an optimum manner to process the flow of nutrients and emotions central to our well being.

Abdominal Therapy is an ancient treatment that has been known and practiced by generations of indigenous healers, midwives and shamans in villages and healing temples for thousands of

An Abdominal Therapy treatment includes:

  • Comprehensive review of personal health history and current health care needs

  • Abdominal massage — a slow, deep, external treatment of the abdomen and back to soften muscles, adjust the uterus to its proper position in the abdominal cavity, and release muscular and emotional armoring.

  • Self-care techniques are taught for home care to enhance the treatment.

  • Recommendations of complementary modalities may include herbal and traditional remedies, nutritional and lifestyle education and addressing emotional needs.

years, but has since been forgotten or suppressed. The current medicine of technology tends to focus on relieving symptoms rather than addressing the causes of disease. We do not cure disease. We work in the realm of divine science, removing the obstructions and deterrents to Nature's Healing Force. This treatment assists the vital flow of fluids and energy to nourish and repair the organs and systems. By addressing the congested abdomen, the progression of symptoms to chronic disease is prevented.

The techniques used in this form of massage were developed by Dr. Rosita Arvigo who lived in Central America for over thirty years. She was honored to become an apprentice to Don Elijio Panti, a renowned Mayan healer and shaman of Belize, as well as several village herbal midwives. It was here, with hard work and dedication, that Rosita learned and refined these ancient healing techniques.
